What's Your Point of View? ~

Is you glass half full?, or is it half empty?

The phrase "half full" versus "half empty" is often used to represent different perspectives on the same situation. A glass half full symbolizes optimism, gratitude, and seeing the potential or positive aspects of a scenario. On the other hand, a glass half empty is commonly associated with pessimism, focusing on what is lacking rather than what is present.

Psychologically, this comparison highlights how mindset shapes perception—whether someone chooses to appreciate what they have or dwell on what they don't. It’s a simple yet powerful metaphor for attitude and outlook.

How do you see it? Do you tend to lean toward one perspective more often?

For the majority of my life, my glass was half empty, I mean being around abusive people and in traumatic situations, we become creatures of habit, based on our environment.

I'll admit it was a tough journey changing my perception. I now try to surround myself with positive people and have a more positive outlook on life. It doesn't mean my glass is always half full, I have to use skills I developed to change my perception.

SKILL 1- Engage with someone I know who is almost always positive and avoid the "gossip."

Skill 2 - Go to my waterfall and meditate on being positive and grateful

Skill 3 - Listen to upbeat music that makes me want to sing.

Skill 4 - Journal or write in my blog.

Skill 5 - Help someone in need, either provide food or consoling them, to make them feel good.

Skill 6 - Reading or learning new skills or ideas to help me to where I want to be.

Skill 7 - To listen to an audio recording about hypnosis or meditation.

I'm sure there are several more ideas that may motivate you to get out of your rut, just listing the ideas and tools I use to make me feel better.

Prayers,

Mandie
